Even the traffic light conspiracy

Sometimes, it seems like everything is working against you including even the traffic lights!

When you are running late for work or an appointment and at very traffic signal, you get a red instead of a green, you, in your frustration, end up thinking there is a conspiracy

against you by even the lights !! (Hahaha)

INSIGHT

The story of Jacob and his children in the Bible bears a similar conclusion by Jacob.

Jacob appeared to be in a tight corner, when his sons informed him that the Governor in charge of the food rationing program in Egypt (who was actually Joseph his

son), had requested that they bring Benjamin down with them on their next trip to buy food.

Jacob protested aloud about the fact that he had lost Joseph and Simeon who had been placed on remand in Egypt. He was so upset with the idea that they wanted Benjamin

too (who had taken over from Joseph as his pet son)

Why send him to an uncertain future in Egypt? His conclusion an interesting one was that everything was against him.

Jacob had been a fighter for most of his life. He had struggled to be where he was against great odds. Before Pharaoh, he summarised his days on earth as “few and evil” (Genesis 47:9).

He knew what was against him, but more importantly had forgotten the God of the Covenant who had delivered on His promise to be with him (Genesis 28:20-22).

As pilgrims in this world, we are hit hard at times by the frustrations of life. We are at times pinched and punched so hard by life that we tend to forget what we possess or the One who possesses us and in whose Hands we are.

God and His Word, which are supposed to be brought into the equation in times of perils, are in most cases placed aside.

We tend to struggle un-necessarily on our own to remove the cords that bind us in very tough situations. We end up seeing ourselves as victims instead of victors against

the forces against us and sideline the only Force which is for us.

In troubling times we tend to focus too much on the challenge, and miss the chances placed before us by the Changeless God and our Champion to change our situations

By magnifying the problems before us, we tend to miss the Person who is supposed to be with us the Only One Who promised never to leave us nor forsake us

Beloved, in such troubling times, lets rather rely on the power of the One Who is for us, and not those against us.

Paul says that “if God be for us, who can be against us? For He is able to make all things work together for our good (Rom 8:28, 31)

Rest assured of this fact that, when persons and circumstances come together to work against you, God is able to give them a new job of working together for your

good. HALLELUJAH!!!

As God gives these conspirators fresh appointment letters, He changes the effects of their actions against you.

This time round, the stones they throw at you, shall miss you and give you enough stones to be stored for your storey building. (Say a big AMEN)

Whenever everything appears to be against you, get God on your side, as He is able to frustrate the devices of the crafty so that their hands cannot fulfill their desires against you (Job 5:12-15)
